About

Wildwood dreams offers a trained bushcraft practitioner to facilitate the
learning of:
  • Bushcraft and forest skills (please see session info)
  • Empowering activities that enable individuals to learn and develop skills to
feel comfortable in Nature. For example, constructing shelters, making fire,
foraging, sawing, wood processing, chopping wood, knife skills, whittling,
    water procurement and filtration
  • To have fun, explore, child led play, forest school games, tree climbing
  • Campfires, circle time for the group to bond and to confidentially share
what one has learnt, dreamt and felt throughout the day

Wildwood dreams mission statement is to give bushcraft and forest school skills, to the local community. These skills can develop and empower individuals to trust oneself whilst in Nature and be able to hopefully teach others how to survive in the woodlands.

Wildwood dreams also creates opportunities for individuals to express themselves in sharing circles around the fire. Along with storytelling, drama, singing and dance. The purpose is to strengthn one’s relationship with oneself and to the group collective and with Nature.

Paul Swann

Bushcraft Leader

I gained a passion for Nature ever since becoming a boy scout. I love spending time in the woods and going for hikes and adventures with friends and camping with family. I love science and how it reveals the natural processes of which we are a part.  I am forever natures student.

I can share bushcraft skills that have equipped me with a way of connecting and being comfortable in nature in all weathers and temperatures. I can also lead simple forest school activities (see session info) that give people of all ages the freedom to use their bodies and minds, be creative, express themeselves, learn new skills and problem solve.

History

My work history includes:
  • Public artist - working for Scartworks as a Welder and Mosaic Artist. I can make use of these skills when creating forest school art with the children.
  • Science Technician in a Secondary School. I love Science and how it can pone knowledge to relate and understand Nature at a deep and profound level.
  • I am currently studying towards a BsC in Natural Science, I have gained valuable knowledge on how Ecosystems function and operate. I can share this knowledge during forest school activities and meditations.
  • I am an active member of Manchester Mens group. A sharing circle and each other leading group sessions on each others passions, for example mine was on singing.
